Free 5gb Dropbox space

dropbox
I have been using dropbox for a few years now and use it for all of my "my documents."  I am a pro member and use about 50gb to store and synch data across all of my devices.  I just ran across a currently running promotion to gain an additional 5GB worth of free space with dropbox.  You need to download and install there latest beta build.  This will give you one key feature Dropbox Photo Importer.  I have not seen any downside to this beta build, but it would be good to be cautious.
Steps to get your free 5gb

1.  Download the latest beta from the dropbox forums here
2.  Load 5GB of pics or video onto a portable device.  I used a spare USB drive
3.  Load My computer, right click on the device and select autoplay
4.  From the list select dropbox
5.  Let the magic happen and collect 5GB.

If you want, feel free to edit or delete the media this does not effect your free space.

2009 Holiday Season Cell phone Shopping guide

I saw a few articles around the net commenting on cellphones from the top companies.  Some handy tools if your shopping for one this xmas seaons.

Check out the pic below for the top phones from the top companies.  Iphone 3gs from AT&T VS Motorola Droid from Verizon VS Palm Pre from spring VS My Touch from Tmoblie
Click the here to read the full article.  Click to enlarge the pic below

I've also included a link the latest consumer report article regarding cell phone providers.  Verizon is first, AT&T is dead last.  This is not really surprising.
"The annual survey of wireless customer satisfaction from Consumer Reports hits the streets this week and it doesn’t have much good to say about AT&T. In a canvass of more than 50,000 readers spanning 26 U.S. cities, the organization found the carrier had the lowest customer-satisfaction rating in 19 cities surveyed; Verizon ranked highest."

I've been a happy verizon customer for years and have had only 1 complaint up until now, an Iphone competitor.  I'm going to get the Driod in a few weeks when i become elligible.  With my new phone every 2 years.  I can get the driod for $99 and since i don't need it for business i only have to pay $89 per month.

2009 Holiday Season Computer buying guide

I have been asked by a lot of people what kind of computer to get.  Here are my recommendations for a everyday computer that the basic family would probably need.  I have already written a quick laptop recommendation check our past articles for that.  This page is a bit more in depth.  Also check out the recent study we found showing laptop and netbook warranty claims.  Toshiba came out best but they all were pretty bad.  1 in 3 laptops break within the first 3 years.

Laptops and desktops used to be worlds apart but for a basic everyday computing I really give the same recommendation on both.  So this page will give you an explanation on every component and hopefully help you shop during the holiday season.

Take a deep breath it seems like a lot, it isn't.
Look at the bold items and read on for an in depth look at each part
