Get rid of all of your cds, please
Almost everyone these days has itunes. Whether you have an ipod, iphone or just really like podcasts you have downloaded itunes at one point in time. At this point in this guide you should update it to the latest, it takes a while so a cup of coffee may be in order. If it's not up to date already you should consider yourself talken too. Always update your stuff, Number 2 tenant of computer ownership.
After that follow this video to rip all of those cds to mp3s. Then get rid of your old cds for your and my sanity. There is no reason to use cds, records are different story. There is no nolastic or audio phile reason for cds. You can pick up a used ipod shuffle for the price of a case of microbrew beer. Less then $40. It's pretty easy and once you do it once, put your piles of cds next to your computer and do 1 cd every time you sit down.
